Heaven

Father Murphy walked into a pub in Donegal, and said to the first man he meets, "Do you want to go to heaven?"

The man said, "I do Father."

The priest said, "Then leave this pub right now!" and approached a second man.

"Do you want to got to heaven?"

"Certainly, Father," was the man's reply.

"Then leave this den of Satan," said the priest, as he walked up to O'Toole.

"Do you want to go to heaven?"

"No, I don't Father," O'Toole replied.

The priest looked him right in the eye, and said, "You mean to tell me that when you die you don't want to go to heaven?"

O'Toole smiled, "Oh, when I die, yes, Father.

I thought you were getting a group together to go right now..."

Sunday again...

Loverboy still not home... been 12 days. He's starting to get missed by all of us. He'll be home tomorrow, and he told me it would take 4 days to recover from the non-stop fishing. I'll have to pamper him .. ( wink, wink)

~~~The Canadian dollar reached parity with the U.S. greenback on Thursday for the first time in almost 31 years, capping a spectacular run that has seen it rise 62 per cent since 2002.
The loonie briefly reached $1.0003 US on foreign-exchange markets shortly before 11 a.m. ET, the Bank of Canada said. The currency spent much of the rest of the day flirting with parity — at one point trading at $1.0008 — before closing at 99.87 cents US, up 1.37 cents from Wednesday's Bank of Canada close.

The previous time the two currencies traded at par was in November 1976, just after René Lévesque's election victory in Quebec, which sent the Canadian dollar reeling.

By January 2002, the loonie had bottomed out at just 61.79 cents US. For Canadians, it makes for cheaper imports from the U.S. and cheaper vacations in the U.S. But for industries that sell most of their wares south of the border — manufacturers, lumber companies, auto-parts makers — it's been a nightmare. They're struggling to compete with a built-in 60-per-cent handicap, compared with five years ago. ~~~

Back from the City

A couple days of shop till you drop in the city was very nice. Escalators out of order, however , aren't so nice. Bought a couple Christmas gifts, and some clothes, "pour moi."

At Wendy's we spoke to a young man who sat by us. He had a story of how he left Scotia Bank to work 3 hours every night and make really good money. We all raised an eyebrow, and I asked him if he was an escort. Oh no! he said.... That would be against God's wishes. When we left, he came up to us in his vehicle and gave us some "Get out of Hell Free" cards, and showed us his bible, and went on to say ... blah, blah, blah.... Boy, he must of thought we were headed for that hot place, and I don't mean the Caribbean !

Casino and Lower Deck proved to be fun as usual. Lots of seniors at the Casino.

At Lower Deck, I confessed that after the shopping, I felt like I was 80, but now I felt like 18. The music was super and the sights were good. Lots of testosterone. Never too old to look, they say.

The Casino was nice to me and I came home with a hundred dollars more than I went with. Played at a table (that I really didn't understand all that well), but it paid me some nice chips.

The Marriott was hosting a Life Guard party of some sort, and the music was good there too. Some women invited us to join them and dance, but we felt out of place without our lifeguard shirts on, and Hawaiian lei.

I am a little chicken to get wet in any pool below 85 degrees, but the hot tub was nice.

La Girl, is very electronically minded, and knows a great deal about any gadget coming out on the market. A Good conversationalist.

Lady Di confessed to me that she was really a shy person, and I am still laughing over that one. I hope she comes out of her shell soon.

Sunday... Ahhhh.....

This must have been the longest Sunday in history. Loverboy is out fishing, and it makes the day seem so long when he's not around to cook for and scratch his back. I miss him unloading the dishwasher too, among other important "chores" he does around here. I kept busy today, put down some baseboard, and painted too.

Almost 2 weeks since the kids are in school, and the youngest has a "bug" of some sort. Feverish, dull, and a headache. Why can't the schools invest in some hand sanitizer stations of some kind. Catch the kids coming off the bus, and get them to sanitize before getting on again at the end of the day. They can even ask us to donate.... after all, we supply kleenex and bandaids as it is.

Lady Di has a friend now, and he sent her 12 roses last week. Ohh.... really nice. She complained the other day that she felt dizzy. I told her " I'd be dizzy too if someone sent me a dozen roses! "

The hostess had her birthday party last week. For some reason the golfing kept getting worse and worse. I was in charge of the shooters, and that is NOT a good thing. The 8 of us had a ball ( 4 golfers, and 4 caddies) and likely will return next year. Only took 3 hours to play 9 holes. Lots of conversation and laughter. Laughter, they say , is the best medicine !

Sweet September

Ah the most beautiful vehicle is out on the road again....

Kids are back in school, & things are back to normal. Believe it or not, I actually like to get up at 6:15... I do wish the sun was up though at the same time.

Camping season is done it seems. We had lots of fun. Vacationed in Annapolis Royal, and did the tourist thing. Fort Anne, Port Royal, Tidal Power Plant, and the lovely nautical shop. At Dunromin, they have teepees you can rent. The kids were going in there daily to do their yoga, as no was using them. One evening, as the sun was setting, I told them to get adventurous, take your flashlights and go explore a bit. They went in a teepee & found two people in a sleeping bag. Too funny !!

I was totally impressed this summer while at Loomers camping without the silent one. It was raining cats and dogs, (which is nice when inside a camper ). It got a little breezy, and with each puff I could hear a splash. So I went out at 1 am to lower one side of the awning so the water wouldn't collect. At 5am the wind picked up, and the awning was doing alot of moaning and groaning, and other scary sounds. So I went out in my nightie AGAIN. I tried to remember how to get the awning retracted and seemed to be doing OK, but could not get it to budge. Out of the blue, I heard some footsteps and a lady came over to help. Together we got it put away. She said that she and her husband had just put away theirs and they had been watching me since I came out. Quickly I thanked her, as I was soaked, and went in. Man, those campers are nice people.

Here's a burning question... those monster mosquito-looking flies... what are they? They really like to live on the lawn, don't they? What are they up to? Have they evolved from something else??? I mowed the lawn, and disturbed 2 million tonight.

News is on soon, and I must see what kind of trouble OJ Simpson is in. My gosh, Trouble must be his middle name. No doubt he's innocent, and the glove doesn't fit.....
